A Message from Bella [PLEASE READ]
A special and important announcement following the strike on Hollywood.
Hi everyone. You may have noticed I never posted an article on Throwback Thursday, or at all since the article about the strike. I’ve made the decision to bow out of writing about Jeopardy! on Substack while the writers and actors are still fighting for better labor conditions in Hollywood. Writing about the show in depth has been a lot of fun and I feel really privileged to have almost 100 readers of this publication.
However, I wanted to show solidarity by not giving Jeopardy! any advertisement while the strike is going. The show is no fun with recycled clues, nor do I think that implementing AI would be beneficial for the show in any capacity. I’m really grateful for everyone who has aided me into starting a career as a writer, and I hope to provide more content about the show in the future. If you want to financially support me, you can subscribe for $8/month.
If you’re looking to get more content for the next few months, you’ll probably need to wait until the strike is over. So if you’re already subscribed and expect articles for the future, I might when I have the free time but I fear that won’t be for a while. In the meantime, consider joining the picket line and getting to know the writers and actors that keep these shows rolling, including Jeopardy! itself. I’m calling on Ken Jennings to bow out of hosting until the strike is over and join the other SAG members, including Mayim Bialik and Ike Barinholtz.
Once today’s game airs, I’ll be updating the all-time leaderboard just once more. Should they follow through with filming for season 40, I will not be updating the leaderboard until the strike ends.
